Gayatri Mantra was written by Maharishi Vishvamitra and is a taken from the Rig Veda, the oldest of Vedic scriptures. Gayatri is considered as an essence of all the four Vedas. Gayatri Devi or goddess Gayatri is depicted with five faces and ten hands seated on a red lotus flower.
